What is included

The descriptions of the archival collections in this catalogue mostly relate to records pertaining to the history of the BSR, and are preserved in the Administrative Archive as corporate records. A particular focus is given to holdings relating to past award-holders and their different roles throughout their association with the BSR and its community. Some descriptions also include photographic material, manuscript items and personal papers.

Archival resources have been catalogued either at collection or item level, and full descriptions are also provided for some sections. This catalogue includes some holdings from the Archaeological Archive and more content will be added as records are processed.

Browsing and Searching

Material can be browsed by using the navigation bar below the header at the top of every page. Collections will show up in alphabetical order of title, including those that have only been accessioned. Indexed Names (names of persons, families and organisations associated with the description of materials) and Indexed Subjects (subject terms mostly associated with collection-level records) will facilitate other points of access to the archival holdings.

Searches can be done by keyword on the full text of descriptions but can also be limited by specific fields. Search results can be refined further by using the additional filters in the list available on the left-hand side. We are working towards the enhancement of this catalogue to provide more detailed descriptions of our archival holdings.

To return to the home page, click ‘BSR Archive’ at the top of every page. For any queries please contact the Archivist at archive@bsrome.it.

Other online catalogues

Photographic collections preserved in the Photographic Archive as well as Special collections can be accessed more extensively through other BSR online resources: the URBiS network catalogue and the BSR Digital Collections portal.
